Christina, a beautiful 4 year old girl, lived life on the streets of Haiti with her mother and didn't know that life should be any different. When she arrived at the House of Blessing she was malnourished and in need of grooming and health care. She was full of life, energetic and likable and it didn't take long to see all the potential Christina would have. She started eating and getting healthier and was accepted in the local church school pre-kindergarten program. She did very well; learning more Creole and excelling in her school studies. As Christina spent more time with the US teams that visit the HOB, she quickly picked up English and her enthusiasm was contagious with everyone. She continued to the 5-year-old kindergarten class, at the end of the year the school told us that Christina was graduating top in her class as she had excelled in her studies and language skills. When graduation came, we invited Christina's mother where she joyfully cried telling us how happy and proud she was of Christina. She continued by sharing that she would have never been able to provide the help and resources to Christina that the HOB has provided.
Christina was enrolled in an excelled elementary school and is continuing to do well as she moves forward from class to class soaking up more and more knowledge. Our goal is to not only equip the children to obtain an education; more importantly to grow and mature in Christ. Christina has memorized several chapters in Psalms and helps the younger kids with scripture memorization, schoolwork and their HOB chores. This past summer, Christina won first place, in her age group, at a talent show by singing a Christian song. Along with all the children at the HOB, Christina attends church every Sunday and uses her gifts to serve the church in musical programs and drama reenactments. We are blessed to be part of God's work by helping raise this beautiful young lady who will impact Haiti and the world for Jesus Christ.
I used to question the love of God because of different unexpected circumstances that occurred in my life to make me feel depressed, oppressed, forgotten, and rejected. After wondering for a while, God has enlightened my spirit on different issues that had made me feel insecure about His love for me. I have finally realized that circumstances occur to create a place for God's love to be demonstrated in our lives and then give us the freedom to testify about that love. What is love if there is nowhere to express it?
The obstacles that I had to overcome, the trials that I had to endure, and the rejection that I had to put face, have created a place for the love of God to be manifested in my life. When I was born my parents decided not to keep me. Instead of choosing to let someone else raise me they did the unthinkable. I was thrown in a dumpster. That is an obstacle that I have overcome over the past years. When that crucial act of my parents was used as a constant weapon against my progress in life, to make me feel lower than I was created to be, I had to endure some trials. When everyone else around me had the privilege to look up to someone and say father or mother, I only had my dreams. In the midst of all I had to go through, I am grateful for the HOUSE OF BLESSINGS (HOB). HOB was the place I grew up, where I learned to rely on God through prayer and fasting, the reading of God’s words, and to be a faithful tither. HOB was the breeding ground for God's love to be manifested in my life.
I am married to Renata Winter and I am the father of Abrielle Winter. I am currently pastoring a church in Indianapolis, Indiana. I am also involved in doing mission work in Haiti, which includes mobile clinics, food distribution, and revival. In addition, many lives have been transformed over the course of my ministry. This video should give you a glimpse of how God is using me to bless his people (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8EiD2cJVJE) or check our website at www.gtintlministry.org. God has tremendously blessed me with multiple talents; I am a musician, a songwriter, a singer, a motivational speaker and a pastor. It would have been impossible to develop these talents if God did not send sponsors like you in my path that cares about me enough to help develop these talents. It is clear that whenever you decide to care about the less fortunate you are investing in the future of many that will be facing a similar situation.
House of Blessings is a place that creates opportunity for the hopeless ones to enjoy God’s blessings through the generosity of those that are compassionate about making other individuals lives better. The Bible says, pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world (James 1:27). I was blessed to find someone that was willing to exhibit pure religion in my life, and I have dedicated my life to do the same for many. Just remember without your compassion and your desire to help, House of Blessings will not be a house of blessing as sponsors are the very keys that unlock the blessings.
I’m Wiesland Felius, I came to the House Of Blessings when I was three years old, my God-mother introduce my aunt to Phil and Lonnie Murphy, asking them to take me and raise me at the orphanage. Life at HOB was great. Yes, there were ups and downs, but everything always worked out for good. I think I was six years old when I started singing. I always loved to sing. I sang in kid’s choir - while growing up I kept joining different choirs because I loved to sing so much.
But I was always shy even though I wanted to be a great worship leader. I sang with my friends at church, we would sing in the choir and on the praise team. Richard Fields encouraged me and helped me overcome my shyness… he encouraged me to lead worship. While living at the HOB I went to school and was able to graduate from high school. Living at the HOB I helped in various ways: cooking, taking care of the younger children, cleaning and more. Richard kept after me, to lead worship at the HOB, when we had teams come for a visit. Leading worship helped grow in my faith and confidence.
Then Chris Cox came to the HOB, where he started a self-sustaining project called Bagay Ki Bon, where hand bags are made by local women, helping them have a job and earn an income, providing for their families. Then Chris and Tania agreed that I should become the supervisor of the shop where the ladies made the bags. I oversaw production, quality control, sales and more. Working at BKB helped me with my confidence and my faith, becoming a stronger Christian.
Today, I no longer live at HOB or work at Bagay Ki Bon; I am married to my friend, a wonderful man by the name of Samuel - we met way back in middle school, we reconnected in 2012, we dated for four years and was married in December 2016. We are happily married, and we’re leading a church where God has called Samuel to start and to Pastor. Samuel takes care of the spiritual aspects of the ministry where we work. I work as an administrator at a local factory. And you know what? I am leading worship at the church where Samuel is the pastor! Everything is going well so far. Please continue praying for Samuel and me as we follow the Lord, doing what He has called us to do, and as we become first time parents in December.
When i was with my parents, the life wasn't good for my mother, because my father left my mother with 9 children. I was struggling with Hard life and sickness. My father has a sister who work in Petion-Ville and she decided to came to Port-Au-Prince and let me stayed with my aunt, my aunt said to my mother that she can not help me and she contact a friend who work at Holy Trinity School, and they got me to that school. From there someone contact a friend in Carrefour at Acachon 32 in an Orphanage that Suzane Winter was the Director and the founder, she was good friend with Phillis Newby. I was 7 yrs old when i came. After Suzane Winter died Phillis Newby came and did the funeral and she takes over, and we stayed with her for 5 years.
In 1986 i was 12 yrs old when Phil & Lonnie Murphy started their ministry. We were 30 children i was the oldest. Phil & Lonnie Murphy continue to get support for us to go to school and teach us the Gospel, to love one another, to share and to treat people with respect. Phil & Lonnie Murphy did all they can to make us who we are now. I didn't feel ashame because i was an Orphan this is where i grow up as the matter of fact, i can say that i'm so proud of my self because everything i learned from them is what i am teaching my kids everyday, and the children at the house Of Blessings, i also shared that with the new family in Callebasse. I thank God first for giving me so much patient because being a leader it's not a easy task especially in a 3rd word country.
Phillip & Lonnie Murphy dedicate the new Orphanage in Callebasse Grand Platon in 2003, before the children move in the new house. A lot of friends and missionaries was there for the dedication for example, Richard Fields and others. Everyone was very happy to see the great accomplishment.
I maried Francky Desir October 18th 2000, God gave us 3 children, i gave birth to all 3 of them at home, Lonnie was the midwife. My children names are:Taylor Jiovany Desir, Fabby Florentina Desir and Jodams Francky Desir. In January 17th 2007 our daughter Fabby was kidnap by some people very armed we were very terrify. When Phillip & Lonnie got the message they were very worried and thinking of plans to help getting her back. They came and talk to us about the tragedy and they asked us if we will continue to do the job at the House Of Blessings or if we wanted to go and live to the US.
Our answer was NO! We won't leave we will stay and doing the work that God place us to do. Then we said to them what about the children? If we decided to go where they are going to live and who's going to take care of them? God gave us back our daughter Fabby, after 5 days she was home. It was a miracle and he will always watch over us where ever we go.
The same year 2007 after Phil & Lonnie go back to the states. They realize that they can trust me to be in charge to work as the Director at the House Of Blessings. And before they gone they make sure that there is a staff to help and manage the Orphanage:
- Tania ( Joana Jean Mary Desir) Director
- Francky Desir Assistant Director
- Gilene Pierre Dastine House Parent
- Marie Josette Bazelais House Parent
- Nadia Alexis the Cook
- Immene is now the Counselor
All i can say that before 2010 the things wasn't very easy for the Orphanage. Because when Phil & Lonnie Murphy went back to the states, the board who was set up in the states to help the Orphanage raise funds, and they decided not to help anymore, because when the Orphanage moved to Callebasse the children at the Orphanage stop going to the Church Of God in Port Au Prince, and the Church Of God in Anderson refuse to support the House Of Blessings anymore, that was the reason we had a lot of difficulties at the Orphanage.
To all the House Of Blessings friends, i would like you to know that even if Phillip & Lonnie Murphy is not here all the time, we still need your help to contribute more in all the works and the project that we have to do at the House of Blessings.
I think God was sent Richard and Debi Fields to be a leader and continue doing the work at the House Of Blessings. They really have a good heart of Courage and patient to do the work and for that reason I want to thank God for them. I know sometimes when Richard planning to come with team in Haiti, something wrong always happened, sometimes Debi got sick or another problem appear. The devil is always giving us trouble, i know we will always be Victorious. God always give Richard Fields Strength and Faith, because he knows we need him in this place. We really appreciate the good work you are doing around here and we love you and Debi so much.
After the earthquake Richard Fields started is mission at the HOB, help getting more support and to continue work with the projects at the house Of Blessings. Bringing teams over, help rebuild houses for the people in the Community and he helps with order things too. Richard is a good servant for Christ i know the work you are doing is not an vain.
With Richard Fields now, things are getting much better than before at the HOB, whenever something needed to replace if i don't have extra funds for that, he found the money for that and He helped some of the children from high school getting sponsor because high school are more expenses, sometimes when any of the kids or any of the staff getting sick he help us get the money to go see a Doctor and make sure we take the medication.
We would like to thank everyone who supported the works at the House Of Blessings, and i'm asking you to help continue the monthly support at the HOB. Pray for Tania & Francky and their 3 children, pray for the staff and the children at the House Of Blessings.
Thank You to HELPING HAND IN MOTIONS with Richard & Debi Fields. God we pray a Blessing to be on them, and please watch over them with your Tender Care. Keep them healthy and strong and safe.
My name is Wislande Joseph I’m 30 years old, I’m an Ophthalmic technician certified in Ecuador and the USA , I’m married with a wonderful man named Stephanor Coriolan ,who love and care for me so much , I was growing up in the house of blessing.
I was 8 years old when got in the house of blessing because of my parents economic problems , I think it was God plan for me to have a chance to grow up in HOB , I learn when God has a plan for someone he can make it accomplish any time or he can use someone to make it accomplish.
My growing up in the HOB had really affected my life in lot of different ways. I had a chance to have a great childhood by growing up with twenty different children with different characters, had a chance to go to school , graduate in high school and have a profession, to learn English, to go to church and learn the word of God to love him more, to learn how to help others, to have people that believe in you and make you become a better person every day, to learn how to cook from the oldest kids, and I learn when you really want something or to become someone in life you have to work hard for it.
I bit it was hard for Phil and Lonnie to raise and educate the twenty one kids of the HOB and there tow own kids, all I can say now that they did a good work with the kids, they can be proud now of their work because most of the kids are growing up now, they are making progress their life, they can help them self and serve their country. I m very proud of my life and the person I become. People always compliment and say that I’m different, I always proud to tell them that I was growing up an orphanage and is because of the good education I got from there that I’m different.
I very thankful to God for this opportunity, to Phil and Lonnie, to Richard and Debi and to all friends and missionary that had being supporting me though the house blessing.
